Paul S. Zoltan

Justice Seeker of the Year Award:
Paul S. Zoltan

Paul S. Zoltan has practiced immigration law since 1992. He has chaired the District 6A Grievance Committee for the Texas Bar, the advisory board of the Dallas office of the International Rescue Committee, and the boards of directors of Proyecto Adelante and the Center for Survivors of Torture. He has taught both Immigration Law and Legal Writing and Reasoning at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Inspired by the example of the Peace and Justice Center’s Peacemaker Awardee, Parker F. Wilson, in 2014 Paul helped to found the all-volunteer Refugee Support Network to help unrepresented Central American children and families apply for asylum in the United States. His ongoing work with the Refugee Support Network earned him last year’s Louise Raggio Women’s Legal Advocacy Award from NorthWest Texas.

Since 2011, in churches, community centers, mosques, apartment complexes, consulates, and schools throughout the metroplex, Paul Steven Zoltan has taught immigrants how to exercise their right under the Fourth and Fifth Amendment to – as he puts it – keep their secrets.
