Media Accountability Award:
Green Source DFW
Green Source DFW is an online publication covering environmental news in North Texas. Launched in 2011, the educational site was the vision of retired GSDFW Editor Phillip Shinoda and Memnosyne Institute cofounders Mary Ann Thompson-Frenk and Joshua Frenk. Today, GreenSourceDFW.org continues to advance the North Texas green movement through original reporting, feature articles, green business and nonprofit listings, a green jobs board and a green event calendar overseen by Wendel Withrow, GSDFW Director, and Julie Thibodeaux, GSDFW Editor and a dedicated team of reporters and contributors.
The mission of the site is to educate the community about environmental topics as they relate to North Texas, including green living, sustainable practices, conservation, environmental advocacy, eco-friendly green businesses and public policy discussions.
In addition, GSDFW hosts the annual Oak Cliff Earth Day in the spring and the Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Awards in the fall, which celebrate and unite the North Texas green community.
