We will have two special guests at our committee meetings on Thursday Sept. 5th.
At 6:00 pm, John Fullenwider will join us with updates on the state of our Juvenile Justice system - discussing the facilities and conditions our youth face when incarcerated.
John Fullinwider is a former President of the Dallas Peace Center. He is an activist par excellence on issues of social justice. His services to the Dallas community has affected the communities positively and are well recognized.
At 7:00 pm Tessa McGlynn Sert will be talking about the situation in Palestine.
Tessa McGlynn Sert is the Program Manager for Workforce Development at Baylor Scott and White Health. She previously served as the Education Supervisor at the Refugee Services of Texas – Dallas and the Communications Director for the Dallas County Democratic Party. In addition to her leadership in local nonprofits, she is a strong advocate for justice in Palestine. She volunteered in a Palestinian refugee camp in the South of Lebanon with Learning for the Empowerment and Advancement of Palestinians and has visited activists, political leaders, and nonprofit organizers in the West Bank.
