Reauthorize the Violence Againist Women Act (VAWA): Protect Native Women

To mark May 5th, the National Day of Awareness For Missing and Murdered Native Women, the Human Rights and Justice Committee of DPJC invites you to join a virtual training by the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) on Tuesday May 5th, 7:00 PM CST.

The statistics of missing and murdered indigenous women are staggering - with 84% of Native women experiencing violence in their lifetime and a murder rate 10 times the national average. This epidemic can no longer be avoided. With stay-at-home orders in place in many states and tribes to stop the spread of COVID-19, rates of violence in Indian Country are likely to skyrocket.
