Red Zone & Solidarity with the Cuban Revolution

 Solidarity with the Cuban Revolution

Cuba Solidarity May Day Brigade photoCuban medical brigade arrive in Sierra Leona, October 2014.

Join the 15th May Day International Brigade
In 2014 Ebola was threatening the populations in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
Faced with a catastrophic epidemic the United Nations called on France, the UK, the
US, and Cuba. Within 3 days the Cubans responded with a medical brigade of 256. In
the space of 15 months the threat was contained.

A new book, the Red Zone recounts the unique ability of the Cuban people to display their “wealth” of
solidarity due to the revolution they made over 60 years ago.

Every year the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) organizes the May Day Brigade to offer
a chance for visitors to Cuba to see for themselves what a revolution looks like. Participants travel and meet the people
of Cuba who are proud of what they have accomplished in building a society that puts human solidarity first and has
defended its sovereign right to do so since 1959.
