With Trump making ExxonMobil's CEO, Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State, the fossil fuel industry has solidified control of the U.S. federal government and is now using its new position of power to declare all-out war against climate science and any attempt to shift humanity away from the use of fossil fuels. This is nothing less than a coup d'état of American democracy (or what remains of it) by the fossil fuel industry, Wall Street, and the U.S. military industrial complex. While ExxonMobil and its ilk, as well as their paid cronies, stand to make incredible profits, the rest of humanity can only expect more wars, increasing income disparities and thus social unrest, rapid worsening of the Earth's ecosystems and, ultimately, ecocide. The Coalition for Environmental Justice/ North Texas is calling all organizations and individuals committed to environmental/economic justice, racial justice, the rights of women and children, the rights of workers and for a just and environmentally sustainable world for our children and their descendants to come together in action against corporate terrorism and let ExxonMobil and their shareholders, the financial elites, local/state/national politicians and the world know that North Texans utterly reject the overthrow of democracy and the sacrificing of our children's and the Earth's future for corporate power and profit!
